PLAYSIS ASAKUSA is an unmanned hotel supported by staff from it’s sister company, Playsis East Tokyo, a manned hotel nearby. Playsis Asakusa has introduced a tablet check-in system and IoT smart lock. With this system, they manage guest messages and check-in statuses online in real time remotely, assuring quick response time.

AirHost: Tell us about your facility.
Playsis Asakusa: In the spring of 2019, it opened as a new type of hotel in the Sumida / Asakusa area. There are 16 guest rooms with the image of modern Japanese, and 7 room-types are available, including rooms with a kitchen and rooms for the disabled. This hotel is able to accommodate to different guests with their individual needs.
Playsis Asakusa: In addition to adopting an unmanned check-in machine, we will provide a safe and comfortable stay by installing an unmanned convenience store that sells food and drinks and amenities.
AirHost: Please tell us the reason why you decided to introduce AirHost to your hotel operation.
Playsis Asakusa: AirHost system is the one-stop process for reservation, check-in, and check-out, which is easy to use for a labor-saving hotel.

AirHost: What does your staff have to say regarding the usability of the AirHost system?
Playsis Asakusa: It is generally easy to use as a hotel system, and it seems that even the first-time part-time staff can operate it without any discomfort.
AirHost: How is your staff managing your properties?
Playsis Asakusa: Staff working at a nearby manned property (PLAYSIS EAST TOKYO) can check the check-in status in real time and exchange messages with guests on the AirHost system, to support the unmanned hotels (PLAYSIS ASAKUSA) as needed. We are now able to provide support for check-in, and work efficiency has improved.
AirHost: Has there been any changes in the responses and reviews from guests since the AirHost system was introduced?
Playsis Asakusa: AirHost check-in system was introduced since the beginning of our business. Guests are liking it as the system is convenient and they can check in and out easily and easily without the hassle of waiting at the front desk.
AirHost: Do share with us your vision for your facility in the future.
Playsis Asakusa: Post Covid-19, we will first aim to develop a new hospitality service that allows domestic travellers to receive various services while staying in their guest rooms.
